The company was founded by the heirs of the ancient tradition of porcelain, the Lladró brothers. In 1953, the three founders quit their work at a tiles factory and built a little Moorish kiln in the courtyard of the family home. The company's adventure began in Almàssera, a little town on the outskirts of the Spanish city of Valencia. It is a Spanish company which is engaged in the production and distribution of ceramic, china, tiles, pottery and earthenware products. The production site is located in Tavernes Blanques, Spain and was incorporated in September 1982. The company's manufactured products, figurines, are made out of an original blend of hard-paste porcelain. These gives the products their unique porcelain characteristics. The company's global and domestic ultimate owner is Spain-based Sodigei Sociedad de Desarrollo Industrial y Gestion de Inversiones SA which promotes and develops the industry.
