The company operates as a municipal agency responsible for the management, operation, planning, construction and improvement of hydraulic infrastructures. It supplies one million three hundred fifty thousand people in forty-three municipalities in Valencia, Spain. The company, with registered head office located in Valencia, Spain, was established in December 2008, as a joint venture company created by the Metropolitan Water Services (EMSHI) and Agua de Valencia, SA (AVSA), to manage the water service in the municipalities comprising the metropolitan area of Valencia.
