The company was established in 1967 when a group of doctors set up the Sociedad ClA­nica Virgen del Consuelo S.A. with a view to making up for the shortage of private beds and quality service in Valencia. It is a leading private health company in the Valencian community and in Spain. Its mission to offer professionals in the private medical sector and additionally the public health sector the most highly-qualified human resources and most advanced technical resources required for the different branches of medicine. The company group is made up of seven hospitals. Three are in the city of Valencia: Virgen del Consuelo, 9 de Octubre and Valencia al Mar. Hospital Aguas Vivas is located in the valley in the Ribera Alta region to the south of Valencia. Hospital Rey Don Jaime, provides health care in the city of Castellan. The Complejo Sanitario Sevilla-Aljarafe is located in the town of Castilleja de la Cuesta which includes a hospital and a residence for senior citizens and the Hospital Pardo de Aravaca located in Aravaca district.
